How ShootCheck handles information when you use our website, iPhone, iPad and Android app.

ShootCheck is operated by AARA Entertainments, 12 Cody Road, London E16 4SR, United Kingdom. AARA Entertainments is responsible for deciding how personal information is used for this service. Contact details for privacy enquiries are below.
Information you provide
We collect account names, email addresses, password hashes and, where supplied, phone numbers, profile photos and sign-in provider identifiers. Professional profiles may include your profession, location, biography, portfolio, services, rates and availability. Jobs, applications and equipment listings contain the information and images you submit. We also process messages, booking requests, saved jobs, reports and support correspondence. Do not upload another person’s personal information unless you have authority to do so.
Location and device permissions
You may type a town or postcode or choose a suggested place. If you select Use current location and grant permission, your device coordinates are sent to Google’s geocoding service to identify your town. Location fields can also submit coordinates with the place you select. We do not continuously track your location in the background. Camera and photo-library access is used when you choose to take or upload an image. You can refuse or revoke permissions in device settings and enter a location manually.
Technical information
Hosting and security services may process IP addresses, request URLs, browser or device information and error information to deliver and protect the service. Search terms and location filters may be included in request URLs. Session identifiers keep you signed in. We do not use advertising identifiers or combine your activity with other companies’ data for targeted advertising.
Why we use information
We use account, listing, application, message and booking information to provide the service you request (performance of a contract). We use relevant information to prevent abuse, investigate reports, secure accounts and resolve problems (legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace). We retain records where required to meet legal obligations. Optional device access is subject to your permission; withdrawing it does not affect processing that has already taken place. We do not sell your personal information.
What other users can see
Published profiles, portfolios, jobs and equipment listings are visible to people browsing ShootCheck. Applications are available to the relevant job owner; messages are available to participants. Authorised staff and service providers can access information when needed to operate the service, provide support or investigate concerns. Messaging is not end-to-end encrypted. Avoid publishing private contact details or sensitive information in public listings.
Service providers
We use Vercel for application hosting and media storage, a managed PostgreSQL database for account and marketplace records, Resend for transactional emails, Twilio Verify for UK phone verification, Google Maps/Places for location entry and Google or Apple when you choose their sign-in services. Website payments, where enabled, use Stripe; card details are entered with Stripe rather than stored by ShootCheck. Mobile apps do not provide payment checkout. Providers process information needed for their service under their applicable terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose relevant information when legally required or to protect users and investigate abuse.
International processing
Our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted international transfer occurs, applicable data-protection requirements must be met through an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your data.
How long information is kept
Account and marketplace records are kept while needed to provide your account and related services. Closed jobs may remain in account history after disappearing from public listings. When handling a deletion request, we assess which information can be removed and which must be retained for outstanding transactions, complaints, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Restricted backup copies may persist until replaced under provider backup cycles. This service does not currently apply a universal automatic deletion period to all records.
Your choices and rights
You can edit profile information, choose what to publish and withdraw device permissions. Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity. We normally respond to data-rights requests within one month; where an extension is permitted, we explain it. See Privacy choices for contact and account-deletion information. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Young people
ShootCheck accounts are for people aged 16 or over. We do not currently verify age using Apple’s Declared Age Range API or an identity-verification service. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us so we can investigate.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our services or data practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the service or an appropriate account notification.
